Faces in history
I want to know how long the faces of my loved ones will be known when today slips into yesterday and becomes history. And I wonder, if their faces remain, will their names and aspects of their personalities be known still in one generation. Two? I would love to imagine that their idiosyncrasies linger in some gene and that stories of their humour, candour and exploits pass down the ages. I fear that those I know and love will become vague and forgotten glimpses, waning in the minds of my great grandchildren.
